Shear Distal End Cutter (Lap Joint)

Manufactured on a lap joint forging and measures approximately ½" shorter than the traditional Orthopli Box joint. The joint operates without washers or shims creating a smooth operation during use. It allows the doctor to cut the excess arch wire coming out of the molar buccal tube. Simultaneously, it will hold the cut piece of wire with its built in safety holding design, preventing the wire from flying into the tissue.

• Lap Joint instruments measure approximately 1/2" shorter than the traditional Orthopli box joint.
• Both beaks are manufactured with a hardened steel insert for ease during cutting and also extends the sharpness of the cutting edge.
• The cutting occurs as two pieces of hardened steel cross each other shearing and cutting off the excess arch wire.
• After cutting the buccal wire the upper portion of the tip will hold the cut piece of wire.
• The lower beak is machined to its thinnest point allowing a close buccal tube cut.
• Recommended for braided wire, twist wire, round and rectangular wire up to .025" diameter or .021" to .028" rectangular.
